SketchBetter is a body of ink based drawings focused on calming the mind and resting in the present moment. By creating large artworks using only a black pen on white paper simplifies the palette of options on offer to the artist and using repeated patterns allows the creative mind the pause to connect with physical and emotional feelings and emotions in the present moment.

Creative Enablers at Turner Contemporary, 2017

A creative workshop for parents across Margate,
held at the Turner Contemporary gallery.

In February 2017, I ran a confidence building art workshop for parents taking part in Creative Enablers - a 16 week City & Guilds accredited course for parents. The two hour workshop introduced participants to the science of Positive Psychology and practice of Mindfulness, and inviting everyone to identify and illustrate their Character Strengths (VIA).
Creative Enablers was designed by the Turner Contemporary and the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) to enable parents and carers support children to be more creative in their lives. Creative Enablers was part funded by The Art Fund and ran as part of the Turner Contemporary's wider 'Art Inspiring Change' programme, which worked with 80 Young Art Leaders (YAL’s) from 4 schools in Margate and was funded by The Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
